Schlage classic keyways comprise a group of four families: Obverse, Quad, Numbered and Reverse. They are among Schlage's earliest keyway designs and all but the Obverse family are considered legacy product—meaning they are no longer available for new key system set ups. All are long past the limits of patent protection, but one keyway in particular, the Obverse C keyway, has seen widespread adoption by lock OEMs in North America.
